Transit

Transit - Bus & Light Rail

Bus ShelterRiding the bus or using light rail is a great way to get around town. Instead of dealing with congestion, road rage and the never-ending search for a parking spot let the train or bus take you where you need to go!

The Regional Transportation District

The major source of transit in the Denver metro area is the Regional Transportation District (RTD). RTD provides a comprehensive network of bus and rail services throughout the region. You can find detailed information on RTD’s services on the RTD website – www.rtd-denver.com. From the RTD homepage, you can access a trip planner which allows you to enter a starting and ending address and determine the best routes to serve you.

RTD Pass Programs

Employer Pass Outlets

Employer Pass Outlets are designed for workplaces where employees' use more than 25 passes each month. As an Employer Pass Outlet, your company can sell RTD products - such as bus and Light Rail monthly passes and 10-Ride Ticket books - to employees from your very own worksite. With assistance and materials provided by RTD, you can easily create your own on-site "sales office".

An Employer Pass Outlet also allows employers the option of discounting passes for employees or providing the passes FREE. Each option is a tax-deductible expense for the employer and an additional benefit for employees.

As an Employer Pass Outlet, an employer purchases passes on consignment and pays for only the passes sold each month.

To learn more about Employer Pass Outlets and how you can become one, please Transportation Solutions at 303.377.7086.

Eco Pass

Employers purchase this annual employee pass as a benefit. It's valid for one year of unlimited service on buses, Light Rail, and call-n-Ride, as well as skyRide services to Denver International Airport (DIA). Eco Pass is tax-deductible for an employer as well as tax-free to employees, up to $100/month or $1,200/year. Eco Passes also include the Guaranteed Ride Home program. This peace-of-mind program guarantees employees a FREE taxi ride home in case of an emergency, illness or unexpected schedule change.

If you would like more information on the Eco Pass or would like to purchase them for your employees, please contact Transportation Solutions at 303.377.7086.

ValuPass

ValuPass is a package of 12 consecutive monthly passes that are purchased in advance, rather than month-by-month. Individuals can buy their own ValuPasses, or employers can buy them as an employee benefit and reap tax benefits, too.

ValuPasses save the purchaser up to 20% on the cost of individually purchased monthly passes, and up to 60% off the regular cash fare.

College Pass

College Pass is a transit pass for college students. Students vote to include the cost in their student fees to cover the highly discounted price of the passes, then every student gets a pass. The passes are good on a variety of routes, depending on the college's contract with RTD. Regardless, students who use a College Pass save money and hassle on transportation and gain free time for other activities.

More than 60,000 students enjoy College Pass benefits at six local schools: University of Colorado at Boulder, Naropa University, University of Colorado at Denver, Metropolitan State College, Community College of Denver, and University of Denver.
