Transportation Solutions, working in cooperation with the City and County of Denver, has launched the Mulit-Station Plan and Mobility Study for Colorado and University Stations!
The University and Colorado RTD light rail stations have served the surrounding communities and commuters for nearly a decade. But, these stations remain “backdoors” to their neighborhoods rather than visible gateways. It is time these stations transition from commuter stations to integrated “mobility hubs” and active local destinations. The Mulit-Station plan will address improvements in transportation and place-making at the stations and within the surrounding neighborhoods and support the development of innovative, vibrant and walkable station areas.
The project launched in late summer 2016 and is scheduled to conclude by May 2017.
Project Update #2
Over 120 stakeholders, students, RNO representatives, community members, and station users came out to participate in the public meeting on January 17th at Denver South High School. A tremendous amount of feedback was gathered, which will help inform the planning process going forward. On behalf of the Project Management Team, Transportation Solutions is thankful for the participation of the community to date. Please note that the public comment period is still open! If you were unable to attend the meeting, please take a moment to review the presentation and meeting materials, and provide your feedback and/or questions in the form below. Your input is still crucial to this process!
Public Meeting Materials
Project Update #1
Staff from Transportation Solutions and OV Consulting have been working hard to gather community input and share new information about this important project.
“Pop-up” events took place at both light rail stations during the week of October 17 – 21. These events were fantastic opportunities to engage with train riders as they commuted to work, school, or other local amenities. Many of the folks who took time to provide comments ride the train every day!
Additionally, project leaders have presented directly to numerous neighborhood, business, and student organizations in the area, including: DU Graduate Student Council, University Hills Neighborhood Organization, DU Sustainability Committee and more! More presentations are scheduled to take place throughout the winter and fall.
What do you think?
We are interested in hearing from you! Please leave us your feedback and/or sign up for public meeting announcements.
