Designed to Ride - Project Evaluation

 Preliminary evaluation data shows that improving the visual experience at bus stops in Cherry Creek has increased transit ridership. In fact, bus ridership at these stops has increase 7% over the past 10 months. More impressively, though, the perceptions about riding the bus among residents in the area have shifted significantly. In telephone surveys conducted before and after the bus stop enhancements were installed, we’ve noticed some significant shifts.

· Percentage of Cherry Creek North residents who report they know what bus routes to take to work or school increased from 28% to 45%

· Percentage of Cherry Creek North residents who say bus stops in Cherry Creek provide the information they need to ride the bus increased from 49% to 68%

· Percentage of Cherry Creek North residents who say they feel safe waiting at bus stops increased by almost 10 percentage points (from 70% to 79%)

· Percentage of Cherry Creek North residents who say people like them ride the bus increased by 12 percentage points (from 41% to 53%)

· Percentage of Cherry Creek North residents who say traveling by bus for some of their trips is a realistic option increased by 12 percentage points (from 35% to 47%).

· Percentage of Cherry Creek North residents who say bus stops in Cherry Creek are attractive increased by 26 percentage points (from 49% to 75%).
